How quickly will I hear about a new application?
We check the NSW Planning Portal every 15 minutes. When a new application matches your alert, the email goes out in the same run, so you hear about it within 15 minutes of it appearing in the Portal's public data. You can switch to a single daily or weekly email if you prefer.
Where does the data come from?
From the NSW Planning Portal's Online DA Data API, the official public record of development applications lodged with NSW councils through the Portal. It is published by the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure under a Creative Commons Attribution licence.
Which areas are covered?
All of New South Wales: every council that lodges through the NSW Planning Portal, from the City of Sydney and the Northern Beaches to the Hunter, the Illawarra, the Central Coast and regional NSW. You choose the councils or suburbs you work in.
Do you include owners' names or phone numbers?
No. We show what is on the public record: the site address, the proposed work, the estimated cost of development, the council, the application number and its status. We do not look up or sell personal contact details.
Can I use this for marketing?
The data is published under an open licence and applications are public so neighbours can see what is planned. You are responsible for following the Spam Act 2003 and the Do Not Call Register rules when you contact anyone. Most customers send a letter or a quote pack to the site address.
How does the free trial work?
You get 14 days of full access with no credit card. If you want to keep going, subscribe before the trial ends. If you do nothing, your alerts stop and nothing is charged.
How much does it cost?
$79 a month including GST. There is one plan with everything in it: instant alerts, every trade, every NSW council, the full application details and CSV export. Cancel any time.
What does the estimated cost mean?
It is the estimated cost of development the applicant entered on their application. It is a reasonable guide to the size of a job, but it is self-reported.
